This week has really been swamped for me! I finally found out for certain last Friday that I'll be out of work after March 31st, so there's a lot of stuff that i need to finish before I leave. I'm actually quite ok with having to quit, as I've been more or less miserable there for the past two years or so. This will be the perfect opportunity to actually get out there and find a better job! Plus, I'll of course get a lot more knit-time :)
This past Wednesday my sweet husband, Thomas, turned 30! On Tuesday night his mother, father and youngest brother William came to Linköping to celebrate him, and stayed over night. I don't know if I've told you before, but I have the worst stomache in the whole world. When I was 18 I developed gluten intolerance, and ever since my stomache can handle absolutely no hot spices, no pepper fruits, very little fat and so on. And it's also very stress-sensitive. So needless to say, on Tuesday it chose to act up, so while Thomas and his family went out to a very nice restaurant for dinner, I spent the evening at home, caring for the very upset tummy. Bleh!
As my in-laws stayed with us over night, we all had a very nice birthday breakfast with Thomas, adn then they drove him to work, and went back to Borås. So after work that day me and Thomas went out to another very nice restaurant to celebrate, and then we just sat around for the rest of the night, watching movies and just having a very cozy time. I think he was pleased with the day. And next weekend we're going to have a party for all his friends (well, our friends), and then he'll get his big gift from all of us. I can't wait to tell you about it!
And after today's work is done, I'm first going to work out with my sister, and then it's knitting café time for me! As I spent the whole afternoon on Wednesday with Thomas I idn't get to go to the knitting café then, so I'm a bit stoked about it today.
I've been knitting a lot on my Echo Flower shawl these past few days, and I'm halfway through the B, C and D charts (they're knit simultaneously). I really want to finish this one soon, as it's looking very pretty! Plus, I seem to have a bad case of startitis, and I want to start a new project! I still have a pair of Cookie A socks on the needles that I think I'll try to finish soon, but I'm thinking of starting a sweater or a pair of gloves soon. I'll probably decide tomorrow.
And the Percy shawl I'm making for the Adventures in Lace KAL is progressing, but a bit slowly. I love the pattern and I love the yarn, it's just that the Echo Flower has gotten the front row seat for a while. But I think I've made 9 repeats of the first chart so far, and I plan on making 12 or 16 in total. I haven't decided yet, I'll just see how big it is when I've made twelve. I want this one to be pretty big!
I'm sorry for the lack of photos today, but the weather is just so grey, and I haven't gotten arount to taking any new progress photos of the shawls yet. I'll do better next time, I promise!

I'm sorry to hear that you'll be out of work, but not sorry to hear about the increased knitting time and lowered stress!
I totally understand about the unhappy belly. I'm having much the same issue right now with just about everything.
Sorry about your job, but hopefully it will turn out to be a great opportunity to find something you enjoy. I can relate to having a sensitive tummy-- mine is like that, too. Happy birthday to your husband.
Sorry to hear about being out of work, good luck with finding something you love more and are happy with. Maybe it should involve knitting....
Downside: lost job. Upside: unlimited knitting time!
Good luck with the job search, and keep those hands busy in the meantime!
And happy birthday to the husband! It sounds like a very festive occasion.
