I forgot to tell you,

But last week I also got two amazing packages via the RAK in Europe group on Ravelry. The first package arrived just when I was leaving for a knitting café. It came from Stebo79 in Germany, and contained some stitch markers that she had made herself. They were made with fishing line, which I haven't seen before, and some purple pretty beads. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the knitting café and wanted to show them off, they seemed to have fallen out of my pocket, and now I can't find them! I'm so sad about this, as they were really cute, but I guess that's life :/

And this Friday I also got a package, that came from IgnorantBliss in Finland. This package also contained stitch markers that she had made herself, and these ones I've managed to keep. Aren't they lovely?

There were five of each kind, but two of the smaller, green ones are allready in use in my Echo Flower shawl. I just love this group, and I plan to send off some more packages next month.

Sometimes it really sucks to live in Sweden, so terribly far from the US where movies always premiere first. This Friday, the 29th, one of my most anticipated movies is finally coming here! I've been looking forward to Where the Wild Things Are for over a year now, and when I first saw information on it, it said that it would be showing in October 2009. Boy, were they wrong! But now it's finally coming! I love the book, and must have read it a 1000 times by now, and the trailers I've seen look very nice and well-made. I don't know if we're going to see it this coming weekend, but definitely some time next week.

Oh, and we haven't actually seen Avatar yet... Neither me nor Thomas are really happy in going to the movies, now that we have such a good TV we'd rather sit comfortable in our own living room and watch without a lot of other people to disturb us. So we've decided to wait for the DVD instead. So don't go tell me any spoilers now! There are some movies that are accepted from the view-at-home rule, that just needs to be seen on a huge screen. We've seen all of the Lord of the Rings films at the cinema, as well as all six Star Wars movies, and I've also seen all the Harry Potter films at the cinema. But what I've seen of Avatar in the trailers hasn't really impressed me (or Thomas), a lot of it looks almost like a TV-game, so we decided we don't need to see it on a big screen.

Ok, enough rambling. I have to get back to work! And just to give you a small teaser: This is my 99th post, so next time it's competition time!

Hi Jenny! Thanks for stopping by my blog to introduce yourself. I'm looking forward to the Adventures in Lace KAL.

Your lace shawl is gorgeous. I can't believe you finished two shawls already this year! It would take me a year to do one :o)

I feel the same way about Avatar ... the trailer didn't thrill me. I loved the book Where the Wild Things Are as a child but haven't checked out the movie yet.

Thanks for visiting my site and welcome to the yarn knit along - I love Kate, too! I love that you have a Devon Rex - they are my favorite cat, and I am a cat fanatic, so that's saying a lot.

I haven't seen Where The Wild Things Are yet, but I do want to. Everyone I know is Avatar crazy.

Very nice to meet you, Jenny from Sweden! Thanks for stopping by. What are you making for the KAL? I still haven't decided!!! Your shawl is just gorgeous! I have never knit anything like that. I hope to get over that hurdle.

I love that you've seen the Harry Potters and Star Wars in the theater- me too! I love being a geek- and having all the other nerds around when experiencing something like that for the first time!

Oh, and the stitch markers are beautiful!

Hello Jenny from Sweden! So glad you said hello and are keeping track of all of us in the Lace KAL...it will make it much easier for me to slowly visit everyone else's blog. (Hi everyone else :))

Your lace is beautiful. I'd like to try embellishment with beads this year after I tackle this first lace project, so I may be bugging you for pointers.

I actually have not seen Avatar. Not for lack of wanting to...more just because I haven't made time for it. Funny how life with kids changes your movie going habits.

Avatar trailers dont compare to the cinema version. The 3D version is so awesome that i have seen it twice. Not for hte story but for the 3D of the movie.

You Aeolian is awesome and cannot wait to knit one as well.

How are your spinning adventures coming?

Actually, I partly agree and partly disagree about Avatar. The movie itself is not very good or exciting or interesting, so if you're going to see it at all, you need to see the only exciting part, which is the 3D and the big-screen-ness. At this point, if it weren't such a huge cultural phenomenon, I'd tell people not to see it at all, but since everyone's making such a big deal of it, you really should go see it in the theaters just to see what the hype is and make up your own mind about it. And I do admit, the whole spectacle of it is pretty cool. I enjoyed seeing it in the theater but I don't think it'll be worth it at all on the small screen.

Also, I don't know if you got an email that I answered your comment on my blog, but I explained how to subscribe, so go check it out and have a great day! As you can tell I finally figure out how to be able to leave comments again--using a different browser.
