Echo Flower cast on

Hello everybody, and happy Tuesday to all of you :) I've had a very productive day at work, so I'm feeling somewhat pleased with myself today. It felt really good to go home a bit early and know that I've gotten a lot done! So now I get to knit for the rest of the day, yay! Well. I'll probably go with my sister to the furniture store, she's buying a new sofa and she wanted my input. But other than that, I'll just knit!

My sister helped me out a little while ago by photographing me ouside. It was snowing, but the photos were ok at least. So here's me, wearing my new kit with half-mitts and shawl. I think I'll call this my September kit, he he!

Imagine how much Hobbe likes that hair-do :) I call it my Britney Spears look, as it reminds me of the pony-tails she wore in the One More Time video. I haven't worn my hair this way for a LOOONG while, I think the last time might have been when Thomas turned 25 and got to decide what I should wear for the day (don't worry, he chose nothing kinky :). And he's turning 30 in a month... But I tink I like it, even if it makes me look a bit young. I think I'm finally getting to be that age when I don't mind looking a bit younger ;)

And late last night I cast on for my next shawl for the 10 shawls in 2010 challenge. I finally decided to follow my list, and cast on for the Echo Flower shawl. This pattern is gorgeous, and I'm making it from my KnitPicks Shadow Kettle Dyed, in colourway Wine. I've only gotten about 5 cm, but I'm already liking this yarn a lot. I'm so happy that our new KnitPicks order is under way! I'm thinking of adding some red beads to the final edging when I get there, but I'll decide that when I actually get there.

I really enjoyed making the half-mitts, so I think I'll cast on for some more gloves this weekend. I'll wait until my KnitPicks order gets here to cast on for some of the selbu mittens and gloves, as I want to use the Palette yarn for those. I was really pleased with that yarn when I made the Moose mittens for my grandfather, so I'm planning on making more of that kind of mittens from that yarn. I ordered A LOT of it too, you'll see when it gets here :) However, I did buy some beautiful glove patterns right before Christmas, so I'll probably start by making a pair from those. I'll probably start with the Lady Sunshine gloves, and I'll probably use some of my Drops Delight yarn for them. As usual, I'll probably decide this weekend, and I promise to tell you all about it when I do.

Now I think it's time for some actual knitting!

I have a skein of that kettle dyes yarn in wine and I have to agree its pretty great. Those gloves and that shawl are beautiful. I can't wait to see where your 10 shawls in 2010 challenge takes you.

Jenny, you are the cutest thing ever! That photo just made my day! You must take more FO pictures, ok?! You are a ray of shining light!

I love the shawl, and the mittens make a matching set! I don't think I've had a matching set of woolens in years- maybe that's something I could do? Thanks for the inspiration!
