Unexpected gifts

A while ago my husband found a pair of Converse shoes he really wanted, but unfortunately, these were only available in the States. So I asked my friend Nalamienea (as she doesn't use her real name on her blog, I won't use it here either) if she could order a pair for us, and then send them here. As she is the sweetest ever, she of course consented, and today the package finally arrived here. It wasn't her fault that it took so long to get here, it's been in the mail for over two weeks and I suspect that the volcanoe erruption on Iceland didn't help either.

Anyhow, she had "padded" the package with three wonderful skeins of yarn as a gift for me! I'm so happy, especially as the yarns are really, really gorgeous! She sent me two skeins of Filatura Di Crosa Andina Mix (35 % alpaca/50 % wool/15 % acrylic, 115 m per 50 g), and this yarn is just so so soft! I'm seeing a pair of mittens for myself made out of this yarn! I love the colours too, white and grey and a light brown/beige, it just looks very natural.

In the actual shoe box itself was the next surprise yarn, and Nalamienea has really spoiled me with this one: It's a skein of Malabrigo Lace (100 % merino) in colourway Amoroso. It is sooo pretty and soft as butter, it's definitely going to become a small shawl for myself.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Nalamienea, I'm so very grateful!

YOu are very welcome, dear! I don't mind if you use my real name. hehe I don't not use it on my blog on purpose, it just sorta happened. lol I have my real email address there, which is my whole name. Lot of sense, right?

Hey, if you run short on either of those let me know! I have a more of either if you need it!

I feel jipped that I didn't get a pic of Thomas in his new shoes! Show them sexy legs! ;)
